Since I was up I did some correcting, I had massive piles of math tests, because that is all we seem to do lately with this new program, and that gave me a headache! So, I decided a nap on the couch was in order. I passed out for a few hours with my heating pad strategically placed.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new week.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support on yesterdays post. You have no idea how much it means to me. You have helped me find hope that things will be ok and that I will be ok. I am going to put into place one of the simple plans I discussed with my peers yesterday in class. I will basically be going back to the basics with this group. Instead of being a 4th grade teacher I will pretty much become a 2nd grade teacher, as far as the procedures of the class go. Content wise, of course I have to do 4th grade stuff, but it will be scaled down to a much simplier ability. While I feel uneasy doing this, because it makes me feel like I have given up on them- I am the teacher that pushes my students to reach their full potential- I also need to realize that they are not at the level yet where they can be pushed. Maybe they never will be and I need to be ok with that. I need to lower my expectations of myself as their teacher so I don't feel like I am letting anyone down. I need to help them. That will be my new goal and this has given me new hope.

10 honest things about me... hmm.. what don't you already know about me....
- I started playing t-ball when I was 5 and played softball all the way until I was a junior in high school. Due to some major politics in our school there were 6 seniors, including myself, who were cut from the team senior year. I bought a new glove and cleats that year, and haven't used them since.
- I don't cook. I hate it. I hate trying to get things all cooked at the same time. I burn things. All the time.
- I actually like to clean. However, this shouldn't come to you as a shock since I am the biggest organizational freak you'll ever meet! Cleaning helps me get some frustrations out! You can be my house is pretty clean right now!
- I have my belly button pierced. I got it done when I was 18.
- I love bubble gum. I chew it a lot but mostly after I have had a few drinks.
- I have to sleep to the left of my husband or I feel weird.
- I never eat the last bite of my food. I don't know why, I just can't.
- I used to be able to put both legs behind my head. My mom thought it was hilarious! I think I would just get stuck now if I tried.
- I am paranoid about bad breath so I always brush my teeth before I leave the house and I always have gum in my purse.
- I love pizza and could eat it every day.

That's great you were able to come up with a whole new plan. If only your students knew how much you worried. It's obvious you care a lot about them and their education. I hope Aidyn has a teacher like you when he's in school.
Thanks for the award! :)
